Door Vastu

Main door is the face of any house or office. It is the first entry into a place so it needs to be vaastu complaint. Vaastu of a door includes, position on the wall, material, height, thickness, stopper, opening and closing pattern and appearance. Vaastu science is also applied in the construction of all other doors in the building including the back door.

Vastu Shastra has great importance for entrance door in a home, as this is the place from where energies, either positive or negative, enter and exit a house. Having said this, it is obvious that if more negative energies are entering a home from main door then people in the house will not prosper. On the other hand if more positive energy is entering a home then the residents will prosper.

It is best that a house has two entrances. The exit door should be smaller than the entrance, and it should have only one shutter. If there are two external doors for the house, they should not be set in a straight line. When one enters the house, there should not be a wall in front of the entrance. There should be a door that opens to the next room. A shadow should not fall on the main door. The main door of the house should not be below ground. Neither should the main door be in the center of the house, nor in the extreme corners. If the door is set in the north wall, move it east of center; if it’s in the east wall, move it north of center. If it is set in the south wall, it should be moved east of center; if it is in the west wall, move it south of center. Some authorities say that if the house’s entrance is in the west wall. It should be centered. Some Vastu authorities say that to figure out where to place a main door, divide the house into nine parts.

Main or Entrance Door Vaastu – Effect of Directions

North :- If you want to locate the entrance door in North wall of a home, then make sure the door is in North-East section of North wall. The reason for this is to allow morning sun (UV Rays for purification), fresh light and air to enter the home from East. Also keep the door towards center of wall (not exactly at center) and locate a window near North-East corner

South :- If you want to locate entrance of a home in South wall, then locating the door towards South-East is auspicious; avoid having the door at center or South-West portion of wall. For all houses having main door in South direction, it’s must to have another door in North direction also.

East :- To locate main entrance door in East wall, vastu suggests keeping it in North-East part.East is considered to be a good direction in vastu shastra, however, this in no way means, that one can locate the entrance of a house at any place in East side.

West :- North-West half of West wall is more suitable for main entrance as per vaastu.The reason for a West facing home to become third choice for many people is the belief – or rather misbelief – that all West oriented houses are bad as per vastu. I said “misbelief” because that’s not exactly true; in fact a West facing home can be as auspicious as a North or East oriented one – if and only if – it follows very certain vaastu
